Donations are greatly appreciated, For any checks please make them out to Save Polk City Inc and mail them (or drop them off) to 9928 NW 46th Ct, Polk City, IA 50226. Brittani is a CPA and we will be keeping detailed records of finances that will be available for anyone who donates for review.
If there is any money left over at the end of this effort, all remaining funds will go to https://pinkyswear.org, a children’s cancer charity that the Snyder family has been actively involved in for quite some time.
The legal team has started by making the open records request and is engaging at the county and state levels. Grant has a long history of political involvement at the state and county levels, which will help as we look for avenues to stop or alter this development.
We will see if anything is actionable as soon as the City complies with the open records request.
What we need.. DONATIONS would be greatly appreciated. The initial retainer is $25k and will go to all legal efforts. I have contributed $27k to make the retainer payment and cover incorporation fees, but would greatly appreciate some financial assistance in this matter. Donat
Keep talking in the community, and there could be a point when we all need to tell our stories to our legal team. None of this happens overnight. I may also occasionally ask for some help, and if anyone wants to be actively involved and help out, please let me know.
The Allure at Saylorville is a proposed development on a 29.61-acre parcel located near the intersection of Highway 415 and NW 44th Street located in the southeast portion of Polk City. Timbercrest Homes LLC., the property owner, has submitted signed petitions to rezone the property from A-1 Agricultural to a mixture of R-2A Townhome Residential, R-3 Multiple-Family Residential, and C Commercial. The 2016 Comprehensive Plan designated this property as low-density residential. On June 27th, 2022, they modified the proposed use of this parcel to be a mixture of high-density residential (8-24) dwellings per acre) and commercial property. No property owners in the adjacent areas were notified of the changed comprehensive plan as they reside in Crocker Township. This will add approximately 330 high-density homes and commercial properties in a location outside of all other Polk City commercial and high-density residential developments and far outside the traditional geography of Polk City.
